“Whatever you are doing, keep it up!” Those were the words of my rheumatologist 20+ years ago after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called ‘ankylosing spondylitis.’ X-rays revealed my spine to be 100% fused, with pain and stiffness.

I defied the doomsday diagnoses given by an orthopedist 35 years ago, “Be prepared to be disabled and in a wheelchair by the time you are in your forties!”

To that I replied, ‘NO I won't! So, in keeping with my rheumatologist’, I did what he recommended. I stayed mobile and kept moving! I am now 74 and worked full time, in very physically demanding job—and retired in my 70th year.

The awful prophecy did not come to pass, as the Dr. Grim said. I never made plans for anything but happiness and a fulfilled life—and that is what has come to pass!

I love retirement, except I found a new career which is writing! I have added Author to my nursing career. More below.

Our Gov. is pretty much in the same boat leaving us Seniors in a leaky canoe. We don’t have a huge illegal immigrant problem in this state, but I hear you! I spent 3 hrs. this morning on various sites where we’re registered to see if any appointments are available. Nope. GRRRRrrr. I really would like at least Jason to be vaccinated before his April surgery! Maybe w/the Johnson and Johnson vaccine approval it will happen.

I know. This has gone on for a year already and TIRED of having to be constantly on guard. **SIGH**

Holy ridiculousness. Is there not a noise ordinance in your area? Lawn mowing, etc. cannot start till 8 am on the weekend and 7 am on week days. That’s a bunch of . . . . horse hockey!

And dropping the F bomb on DH, and telling him where to go! How incredibly rude! All too many rude ones around. I wouldn’t think of yelling like that at a neighbor. And we dealt w/a puckish neighbor across the street who parked their behemoth boat across the street from us all summer. Trouble is, it blocked us from being able to get out of our driveway. After several conversations, the finally did get the message . . . til the next summer and it started all over again. They did move 3 hrs. ago and the ‘new people’ are nice.

Hope things improve. ((HUGS)) Know you're not alone! LOTS of frustrated people out there.

Saturday: Zoom breakfast! Hurray. Garden skillet breakfast. 2 eggs, cheddar cheese, broccoli, asparagus, onions on top of hash browns. Delicious.

Beautiful day yesterday – bright sunshine and cool temps, but not cold.

    HUGS and enjoy Saturday.
