Howdy Girl...I think I read that you have the book? If you read what it says, he refers to numerous studies that support what he says and null out what we "think" about dieting. The only thing I'm TRYING to eliminate completely is sugar. I will stay away from wheat products. This isn't Adkins by any stretch of the imagination. I know I will eat wheat again and I know I will have ice cream again. This book encourages you to celebrate, just don't live with it daily. It's all about how eating certain things makes your insulin levels increase, which causes you to gain. The thing I'm trying to do is limit my meals because all eating causes insulin to increase, so I'm going longer periods without food so my insulin stabilizes I guess? I am learning as I go...and until I weigh myself I don't know if this is what my body needs, but it makes SO MUCH sense. Fung "says" but he has the studies (not his own studies but others') to back him up and totally break the calories in versus calories out mantra we've been fed for forever. In my own experience, it hasn't worked for me for 9 months...time to try something else and shake it up. Thank you for your comment...read the book and maybe you'll understand it all (better than I, lol).
