Thanks for the info about the Pac NW. We came for 10 years to the Discovery Walks in Vancouver, WA, and, while they existed, to the Victoria, BC, Blossom Walks/Victoria International Walking Festival. Always in April, we walked when the temperature was hot/cold/just right and in torrential downpours or in drought. We picked last November for a vacation there, because climatology said November was the wettest month. Wouldn't you know it rained part of one day during our ten-day stay? So we still don't have experience in prolonged cold and wet, though DH just spent a week at a retreat center two hours north of Seattle without warm/dry clothes (oops). 2751 days ago
