Need to be Healthy
i go by Andi and am 40. God gave me a wake-up call when my blood sugar went up. I've known for a long time that I needed to lose the extra weight but that is what got through to me. Also the fact that I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with my daughter at the zoo.

I recently went form borderline diabetic to diabetic type 2. The doctor put me on medicine for that and the high cholesterol. I decided it was time to get serious about losing the weight. The amazing thing is I found out that exercise has helped energize me and regulate my sleeping.

Well I haven't lost much yet. But I am feeling so much better and not just physically but emotionally. I have noticed that with exercising it has kept me more patient with Ally and Hubby who are both ADHD. Yes I still get angry but not as much. This has come from eating right and exercising daily.
Another benefit has been the dog has stopped chewing on everything, you see I walk him as an excuse to get out. When he stops I just March in place while he does his business.
SparkPeople has been the best thing that has happened to me. This time I am getting real serious. You see the first time I didn't use all the tools. I wasn't comfortable on any of the SparkTeams or the message boards. Which I am really utilizing this time around along with everything else. I track my food and exercise daily. I spin the wheel, I missed a couple of days because I didn't have computer. I also read the articles and all the e-mails.

Well my fasting blood sugar was an all time low this morning, 77. It mad my day. I am losing the weight slowly, slower than I want. The fact that my health is coming in line has made me realize the weight loss will come in God's time not mine. The key here is I am feeling better and my blood sugar is showing it. My clothes are looser. I can actually cross my legs comfortably, though being diabetic I've heard I shouldn't do it because of circulation problems. It is beginning to happen. I am grinning ear to ear right now. I have found I really enjoy my walks and when I can't do it because of rain it really gets me down.

It is still the 19th here in Dallas. I have to share some really cool information. I haven't lost much weight but am losing the inches wish I had measured when I started. However, pant size has come down two sizes and I am getting close to "normal" sizes. I am an 18W now. My shirt size went from a 2X to a 1X. I know there are women who will understand the next thing. I went from a 42 DD to a 42D. It made me so happy, I haven't been a single D for 20 years. I will be in a 40 D soon, that's my next goal. Everything is coming down except the weight. I am still on cloud nine. Size is the key and I am getting so much more fit. The weight will catch up adventually.

I am really enjoying Sparking as my family calls it. When I went a while without internet I learned how much it means to me. I utilizze all the tools available but the two I missed the most were blogging and the SparkTeams. Blogging, because I do a gratitude list puts me in the right frame of mind going to bed. Because I do it at night and always end with the gratitude list, yes I still vent on occassion. The SparkTeams are always there with advice or a shoulder which ever is needed. I can also share my knowledge with others and maybe help them. I went into a depression when I couldn't get connected I didn't gain but leveled out and am finally getting back into the swing of things. A Spark Friend who inspired me to blog daily suggested when I couldn't I write it down and when I was able to connect again post all my "Blogs", which is what I am going to do next time.

My Goals:
My long term goal is to get to 135 lbs.
To be able to keep up with daughter at zoo.
To give up diet coke completely.
To excercise an hour a day. Whether it be cardio or strength.
Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water hopefully more.
My Program:
I use a water bottle that holds a little over 2 cups so I count it as two cups. I keep refilling throughout the day. I am limiting myself to one or two diet cokes a day but I can't have the first 'till after I've drank at least 4 cups of water.
I walk in the morning with my husband and dog. I also walk the dog in the evening.
I am using the food and fitness trackers to log how I am doing.
Personal Information:

Other Information:
I do Suduko to relax which my therapist thinks is funny. I love to read a good mystery, fantasy, or drama. I will read almost anything. I am an Accounting Tech and really enjoy my job.
