Introduction Text I am excited to have found Spark People and KNOW that it will help me win my weight loss battle. I have tried all kinds of quick weight loss plans the past several years to no avail. It took me a long time to put the weight on and it will take a long time to take it off but darn it, I am impatient and want it to fall off. I started Sparking August 23 but did not get serious about following a plan for a couple of weeks. It was too much of a change and too many other distractions -- in other words -- too many things to make excuses about :-( I finally realized that if I am not serious about doing the work to lose the weight, it will not happen so I have settled down and seeing the number on the scale slowly moving in the right direction. Naturally this motivates me more to continue on the SP path.

Lowering my blood pressure through weight loss and exercise. Short term goal:

GOALS FOR THIS WEEK: Exercise at least 10 minutes every day. Drink 6 glasses of water every day.

My husband and I have lived in Orange County, California for 39 years and love it here. I have three daughters, two of whom also live here and two grandchildren!

I like to cook and enjoy trying new recipes. I read mysteries and biographies and love to go to the movies. 24 was my favorite TV show and I am so sad it it no longer on TV. I am taking photography classes at the local junior college and also Pilates which I love!
