Hello, my name is Dureen & I am very excited about finding the SPARKPEOPLE website. I'm thrilled to be a member & I look forward to starting my journey to lose weight. I have found it very difficult to do this by myself. No matter how hard I try...the weight just doesn't come off.

I also love dogs (and all animals)...especially my 1 year old miniature schnauzer! He has truly brought a great deal of joy & happiness to my life. The best part about having a pet is that they love you "unconditionally". No matter what kind of day I have, when I come home I am greeted with love, happiness & excitement. It doesn't get any better than that!

My Goals:
I would like to lose 25 pounds. I recently had knee surgery which left me being able to do nothing but EAT! I don't like the way I feel & I want to lose the weight to feel better about myself. I need to improve my self-confidence.

My Program:
I have cut way down on my portion size. I eat 3 balanced meals a day, have added fruit for my snacks & try to drink more water.

Personal Information:
I am from NY. I have 3 wonderful children. My oldest son is getting married the end of June '09.
I was in a car accident the beginning of March & I also had major knee surgery the end of March. It's been a struggle not being able to do much. I am getting a bit "antsy" not being able to get out & walk my dog, cut the grass, etc.
My goal is to look & feel better & to be able to
walk "normally" down the isle for my son's wedding.

Other Information:
Some of my favorite mottos are:

"Live for today"

    Hello and Good Morning (COLD Morning)! Just stopping by to see how your week went. I am off to my Latin Dance class this morning - braving the cold to warm up in class! emoticon

    I got in 4 workouts this past week. Today's will be my 1st for this week (I "start) on Sundays.) I took my "bikini" picture yesterday (Scary) - will take one at the beginning of each new month to track my progress visually. Can't always rely on the scale, as I plan on adding muscle, which is more dense & weighs more than fat. Going mainly by how I look & feel, and fit into my clothes. However, I will be happy when that weight tracker moves downward, too.
