My name is Victoria and I'm a 21 year old college student in Minnesota. For most of my life I have lived destructively, but now I want to change my life so that I can live longer and enjoy life to the fullest. I have so many goals and dreams, but feel that my physical state holds me back. I need more energy and want to develop more confidence.

I am going to London at Christmas for vacation, so that in my mind is a little incentive to really work hard this semester. Overall I want this for me. I want to feel better, and I can do this. I did not get out of shape in a matter of weeks and I know that I will not get into shape in a couple of weeks. This will take time, but it is time that I am willing to invest.

CHALLENGING MYSELF TO LOSE 10 lbs BY HALLOWEEN. MY GOAL IS TO RUN A HALLOWEEN 5k.

Personal Information:
I am definitely an oddball. Love to read, write, hike and swim. I am going to school to teach English to speakers of other languages and I absolutely love it. Once I finish school in 2 years I hope to move to a large city to work with immigrants and refugees or teach somewhere overseas.

I also love many oddities. The macabre, old radio shows, ghosts, and indie music.

Other Information:
Cultivate your curves - they may be dangerous but they won't be avoided. (Mae West)

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do. (Eleanor Roosevelt)

I loved the three years in Iceland. It is unique among all of the places I've visited, with a rugged beauty unknown anywhere else, in my opinion. The people are very nice and most speak English so it is easy to get around. Reykjavik feels Scandinavian, with its own special beauty.

It would definitely be worth stopping over for a couple of days on your way elsewhere, but if you're sightseeing, be sure to go in the summer so you can visit the glaciers, waterfalls, and volcanos and can see the original gysir, after which all others are named. Don't miss swimming in their naturally heated pools.

About the only things to see if you are there in winter are the northern lights. They flash from horizon to horizon some nights, swirling like celestial gauze curtains in a breeze. As I remember, they are mostly white with an occasional tinge of green, and they are spectacular. Seeing the northern lights is on your list of 1001 things to do, isn't it? Iceland is a great place to do that.

The two years I spent in Germany were in Ansbach, near Nurnberg. I really liked Wuerzburg, and flew to and from Wiesbaden many times. I was in Germany at an interesting time. The Berlin wall was still partially up then, and I was there when Germany unified. An exciting time, indeed.

I am at the opposite end of my career from you. I love teaching and I can't think of a single year I would give up in exchange for another to be tacked on at the end, but I would love to have more than what remains. I would want to be young and carefree like I was when I was in Iceland. I think I would appreciate it much more the second time around.

Thank you for adding me as your friend! You're going to London for Christmas? What a wonderful plan. London is one of my favorite cities. You must really enjoy traveling. I saw on your list that you want to teach overseas. You're an education major, then? In my teaching career, I taught for three years in Iceland and two years in Germany for the Department of Defense Overseas Schools. I loved every minute of those years. I hope all of your plans and dreams come true.
