I think a lot of us understand the “Rollercoaster of Flub” where we yoyo back and forth… But for me it stops now!
I have been asking God really what got me to this place with my weight, and I do feel as though I gained some wisdom on the matter about my personal self. I think that a lot of my problem for gaining and for lack of losing has been rooted in pride. First, pride because I didn’t want to admit when I was overwhelmed… so I ate. Second, pride because I didn’t want anyone telling me how to live my life, or eat right – so I clung to extreme ways that were difficult to prove I could do them. Well, confession time – I couldn’t. So now I am here.
So I thought about how I really could see myself doing this now and sustaining it for the rest of my life so that I do not end up back here. I mean, I love rollercoasters, but this one is too jerky!
The way I see myself sustaining this is basically eating the things I love in better proportions, staying within my nutritional range, picking the best meals I can at the time no matter what situation I am in, and exercising at least 5 days a week. Also, trying my darndest to not become obsessy, and let this overwhelm or stress me out. This is the new normal!
Other than that, I am a married, mother of four, working outside of the home woman living in Florida. I enjoy traveling, and Disney World, and taking the family out to active places. A lot of our activities center around things you wear bathing suits to, so for me I really think getting the weight off will allow me to be more active and confident. I am looking forward to that!
I love SparkPeople because everyone here seems so positive and nice! I am definitely receptive to new friends and people who I can also encourage. We all have our own way!
