When hubby was in the hospital for a month 2 years ago he had dogs visits, and his favorite was a Golden named Jimi, also had a French Terrier and a poodle visit. They came a couple kinds a week. He always looked forward to the Canine Visit Day.

Yes, pets do sense when we are not ourselves, or sick. And are wonderful companions, and I commend homes for the oldster that have in home pets. One of our local Nursing Homes has a yellow lab, and he always seems to know when someone needs some extra TLC. And knows all the ones that prefer not to get close and personal with and will oblige them their space. And when he has had enough he just goes to the office where his bed is. lol
