Hello, I'm Melissa, most people call me Mel. I am here to do something for myself, after a very long and trying year of interruptions in my journey to a healthier me. I don't know where my journey will lead me but I'm here to give it the best that I can.

It's time to move forward and bring some positive into my life after all this negative.

My Goals:
To loose 5 pounds.

To loose 10 pounds.

To walk 1 mile - ACCOMPLISHED 11-17-14

To walk 2 miles.

To walk 3 miles.

To go for a jog.

To wear jeans that are not in the "20's" anymore.

To participate in a "Color Run"

To walk a 5k event.

My Program:
Walking on my treadmill daily.

Walking with my dogs as the weather permits.

Learning more healthy ways of eating, and trying new recipes.

Learning to follow serving sizes.

Personal Information:
I am a single 37 yr old woman from extreme small town Kansas. We have maybe 200 people here and that's including the surrounding farms hahaha. No stop lights, 3 churches, a co-op, a post office, and a gas station and that's about it now days, about an hours drive from any Wal-Mart. So now when I say extreme small town you know what I mean. I was born and raised here, in fact I live on the property where my Grandparents used to live. There's nothing like small town life, being able to sit out on the back porch and listen to the birds while watching the squirrels run around....though ya won't catch me doing that right now because it's winter with snow on the ground lol.

I live here with my 2 corgi's Miss Molly Mae and Ranger. And a cat named Pebbles(yeah I don't know where I came up with that name either).

I enjoy reading, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, baking.

I have health issues, lots of them. They make getting healthy a pain in the rear sometime

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl. If you decide this might be for you you can leave your name on the waitlist for the Spring challenge.     I just caught up on your last blog entry; you are sounding so positive in the face of challenges and I'm really glad to read it! I have a 12 1/2 year old puppy myself and every day is full of worry and accommodations to keep him happy and comfortable.

    Great job on the food tracking, lbs lost, and blood pressure! Keep doing what you're doing!
