To Flourish - "to grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way".

Fitness Minutes: 277

My Goals:
I want my senior years to really be my "golden" years!

I want to be a healthy weight and have grace and balance.

I want to be able to fit in seats again; whether it's on a plane, a hockey arena or a theatre.

I don't want to feel pain walking and I want to be able to take stairs normally.

I want to be able to kneel down and garden.

I want to be a success story so that I can be an example to other survivors of CSA who struggle with food addiction as a result of that abuse.

My Program:
I followed the 17DD for 4 rounds in 2011 and lost 50 lbs. Now I'm taking those principles of carb cycling and clean eating and doing my own thing.

I also learned that - "I can do it". It takes constant vigilance, but it's doable.

Recently started Keto and IF (Intermittent Fasting). Haven't really made much progress in the last few years but this is a new decade and I'm determined.
I also learned that a sensitivity to gluten was a major roadblock in my previous weight loss efforts. I would never have learned that without the 17DD.

Personal Information:
I'm from upstate NY, married, no children. We have two dogs and one cat all rescues.
I have fibromyalgia/CFIDS. I'm very into organic gardening and like to travel. My husband and I have a small travel trailer. I'm an avid reader (fantasy fiction, psychology books and mysteries). I like New Age, classical and oldies music, and am very into meditation and mindfulness practice.
My DH and I are both retired.

Other Information:
I believe in the power of the individual to create their own reality.

Anything on MBSR - Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction by Dr. Jon Kabbatt Zin is well worth checking out if you suffer from chronic pain like I do.

    Hi Gabby
Thanks for your coment on my Blog. I was checking out my Kobo e-reader over the weekend and did see that when I found an author I like in the free books that to the side were some other books by the same author marked on the FREE page but when you go to those other books they are NOT free! (tricky people eh? )

I think I will be okay for a while before my fingers get 'itchy" to buy! LOL Because the free ones loaded already are ones I have not read for years so I am going to start with them. That should take me a while to get through those eh? emoticon

Hi, you are good! The variegated flowers are indeed a euphorbia. Euphorbia Snow on The Mountain. It is a native wild flower in the north and midwest though I have certainly never seen it wild. The ones I have were from a "weed" or something, just showed up in my yard one year. LOVE it!

Hi! I read your response to WoundedWarrior and I was touched. I am a rescue person sort of, I can't take credit for being on the front lines of rescue but I support with everything I can. I added you as a friend, we are on several teams together!
