I live in Iowa; I knit, spin, weave, sew. If it has fiber I am all over it. Except for quilting and baskets; not enough time in the day.

In the fall of 2016 I decided I was old enough to be a "little, old, blue-haired lady" and had it dyed. Dearly Beloved likes it so it has stayed.

SparkPeople was off my radar for a long, long time. But after finding a new way to go I am using it again. In April 2012 I reached my first goal of losing 60 pounds and have been at maintenance ever since. Which is not quite true. If you talked with my coach I was maintaining. But I gained weight back. Right now I am not 160 but 200. It was four years returning but it returned and now I am working to take it back down without the program I used in 2011-12.

According to BMI and current weight charts (which are totally inaccurate and illogical) I was still counted as obese at 161. But right now I do not feel as good as I could. Sooooo, on the trail to lose what I have gained and perhaps go a bit lower to see how that feels.

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to limber up and gain more stamina. The fact that pounds drop off is an added benefit.

My Program:
I have added more walking; taking the stairs going up. It is bumpy going with being consistent with weights.

Personal Information:
Grace
Iowa City, Iowa
Enforced retirement in February 2017 which makes me very happy for a number of reasons: 1-more time with DB; 2-able to walk more and not be tied to an office; 3-fibre related things, creating, conferences, etc.; and 4-be outside.

Other Information:
"Make it work" has become a talisman for me. Many times I want to walk away but Tim G's voice in my head will not let me and so I go back into the fray to try and make it work.

Yoo hoo - thanks for the bloglove! I'm pretty much decided to leave the floor alone. The painter is here today working on the walls. Shopping for furniture next week. A photo tour after that.

Hey there - thanks for the bloglove and the celebrity advice. As for the committee lady - I will wait and see if she re-ups for another 2 year term. If so - I will probably rotate off at the end of my first one. I like her as a person and if we're just on the porch chatting I don't care how far her conversation ranges. But I love a committee for what we can get done in an hour - not for how much we can catch up.

Sheep to shawl usually coincides with the time between Easter and Victoria Day (May 24) here; the weather is still damp and cold but the sheep need to be shorn regardless. Rules usually call for hand clippers to be used rather than electric shears which adds to the challenge and the sheep's consternation. Good fun. A local knitting group often participate and have done well completing a sweater before the sun goes down.
