Introduction Text Hi! I'm Jamie. I joined here in early July. So far, joining has been the best decision I could have made. I have learned so much, especially about losing weight through permanent lifestyle changes that fit into my life. More importantly, I have learned both that I have the discipline to take on such a longterm goal and to celebrate each step I make toward that goal as progress. I feel like with each pound I lose, I am growing in many important ways. I look forward to meeting many of you soon.

I am here because I need to lose about 75 pounds. I have made good progress so far, but I still have a ways to go



I'm a Ph.D. candidate in English, and I teach African American literature and freshman composition at a state university. I also love sports (especially the Ohio State Buckeyes), reading, and all kinds of movies from foreign arthouse to classic westerns to sci fi and horror.
