I have been with SparkPeople for over a year now. At that time, I thought that by now I would have lost the 10 pounds that I had gained. Well, I have not. To be honest, I gained an additional 10 pounds. You would think that would make me sad or mad or upset, but it does not.

First - because about 4 months ago, I incurred a major injury of the hip which has kept me less active than expected. This is healing very well and I am ready to get back at it! And during the time that I was healing, I learned a lot about myself, my motivations and goals. I think I have a much better perspective going back into this than I ever have before
I am in much better shape (physically and mentally) than I have ever been in my life. Rather than just knocking out a workout for the calorie burn, I am also doing yoga, stretching and mediation for the rest of me. Some (and being honest here, not all) of the weight I have gained is muscle. I am a cyclist and it is "cyclist thighs" that help me to be one of the fastest women in the area.
My goal for 2012 is to continue to eat healthy, excersie my body and my mind, and get my weight to 140 pounds. And most important - to ENJOY THE JOURNEY!

Posted on day one:
About 10 years ago, I got serious about my health and lost 50 pounds. I have managed to keep it off until recently. I quit smoking about 2 years ago and gained 10 pounds. Those 10 pounds have been hanging out ever since. My goal is to drop them once and for all.
In the spring of 2010, I ran in my first of several 5k races and in June I completed in my first Triathlon. I took 3rd place in my age group. My second triathlon was in September 2010. It was a much larger race and I took 4th in my age group. I have been bitten by the Tri Bug and plan to do 4 this coming spring and summer.
I am excited to meet new people online to share my journey with. I hope to learn from everyone here and hopefully be able to contribute some as well. I would also love to meet some local people that would be interested in training in the real world.
