Keeping it off


In 2007 I lost 20 lbs and then threw away all my old clothes. I never want that weight back. Now that I'm gaining a little muscle weight I've given up on the scale and letting my jeans be my guide.

At some point along the way my focus switched from weight to fitness. I still pay attention to what I'm eating but now I'm less worried about calories and more about eating better quality fuel.

In January of this year I did the Sharon's run 5K in Honolulu and won my age range!

My Goals:
To be able to do real push ups (chest to deck - not on my knees) - DONE!

To be able to do 10 push-ups. (currently at 5)

To be able to do an un-assisted dead hang pull-up. (I'm doing them now with a big rubber-band)

I want to get my running faster than 8 minute mile pace.

My Program:
CrossFit!

Running at least 3 times per week.

    For a second i thought you were one of my friends from San Diego! Josh and DD moved from San Diego to Hawaii and before we left Hawaii they were also planning on heading back to San Diego once they sold there condo in Hawaii. Me and my wife will most likely be moving to Modesto California either by the end of this year or sometime early next year. We are just waiting for Lea's Cali RN license (which takes a few months to get - lots of paper work). Till then we have to probably bare this last winter here in Massachusetts.

    How long have you been doing Crossfit? I'm still trying to learn what crossfit is all about. Good job on the Push-up challenge! Keep it up!

    Thanks, Sumith! We moved from Hawaii to San Diego earlier this year and we love it here! There are a lot of things to miss about Hawaii but having the same great weather plus the perks of being on the mainland is hard to beat.

    I recognize where that photo is taken :)! I hiked up there with a few of my friends a few years ago before me and my wife moved to the mainland.! Are you still living in Hawaii? I just noticed you joined the CEF's and wanted to drop by and welcome you!
