WATERMELLEN
Hi, Fredie -- how nice of you to check in on me!! What big changes in our lives!! You have had a much more difficult transition time than I have, what with the weather problems in Texas, and I'm so glad you're treating yourself to fixing up your new place just the way you want it. Home matters and Bernie matters! So lovely for you to be close to your daughter, son-in-law and grandson!
Our new place is working out very well for us -- you can if you like check a couple of my recent blogs to get the details. But the house was designed by its previous owners for their own retirement and is so well organized and comfortable for us. I am enjoying the birdwatching, cross country skiing on the bay, the neighbours and the wonderful PEI landscape: looking forward to kayaking and golfing in the spring too.
We are pretty well unpacked. I've been polishing up silver -- first my Mum's and yesterday my own!! Next job will be to hang up more of our art pieces and that takes time, to feel where they will be happiest!! I'm also thinking about some simple shades on a couple of windows. 1 day ago

Fredie, just read through your recent blogs and am relieved to hear that you came through that awful weather disaster in Texas. I thought of you when I heard about all the outages, and I'm so glad you were able to go stay with your daughter's family and didn't have to freeze in your own home without power. I sure hope things are getting back to normal and your plants are revived.
So sorry you have waves of homesickness for Marin. I can understand that. I hope you soon feel more at home in Austin. It was such a brave and generous thing to move there, and I'm sure your daughter is so grateful to have you nearby. 2 days ago

Awwww, so glad to hear you're healing, albeit slowly. And glad it's warming up. Such a weird weather pattern.
HUGS and take care of you. My adult kids are both goign thru their trials and tribulations, but doing well. DH . . . well we're waiting patiently for his thyroid surgery on 16 April. Will feel much better when that's over! HUGS barb 5 days ago
