Hi Maxine, just visiting. How are you doing? I'm having a difficult week with general life problems, but not giving up! Take care, and have a Sparking week.

Hi Maxine, please forgive me for not writing sooner. I've only just found your kind comments on Ambelene's "New kid on the block" thread. I would be honoured to be added as your friend, and would love to add you to m friends. How are you doing with your goals? Remember, reward consistency, not results. I'm struggling to be consistent with my exercise. The days just seem to whizz by and when I lift my head again, it's late and I've done nothing. I blogged my thoughts about that just yesterday.
Keep at it, and feel free to visit, browse my food and exercise logs or read my blog anytime. We're all here to help each other and it's great to find a new friend.
    Happy Sparking,
    Margaret

Dear Maxine, I have never been to your part of the world but I have friends that live close to Yellowstone Park and have seen video clips on TV. You are blessed to have such wonderful places close by and the biggest plus point is being safe.
I live in South Africa and crime is really bad. I have been in tears for two days now because my husband wants to put a safety door in front of our bedroom door, we already have a electric fence around the house and a alarm system within the house. The problem is they throw a blanket or a jacket over the fence and then scale it, they usually tie the husband up, torture him in some way to get the pin number of his credit card, and then rape the woman in front off him. I know it sounds terrible, but this is mild to somethings they do. I feel I have lost all my freedom, and am being held captive to crime. I do not want to live with electric fences, alarms and security doors, but at the end of the day we have no choice.

Being 50 poses great challenges but they can be overcome. I am loosing slowly but surely.

I would like to share a "secret" with you. Our metabolism slowdown, and one of the most assured ways to get it going is to exercise the moment you wake up.
I know exactly whats going through your mind, but all it will take is 8 min.

Please do yourself a favor and buy yourself the book "8 MINUTES IN THE MORNING FOR MAXIMUM WEIGHT LOSS" by Jorge Cruise or log on to
    www.jorgecuise.com

Believe me you wont be sorry.

Remember you are not on diet, you are remaking a better, healthier, sexier you.

I know we are only 18 days into the new year, but have you stared setting and goals in place to accomplish your new year goals.

My grandfather taught me a valuable lesson as a child, it was "It's good to have a goal but a goal will only stay a dream until you decide to do something about it."

I always dreamed of having my own restaurant, and 12 years ago I started by cooking and delivering meals of excellence to a Stainless steel company. One day I prepared a meal for the CEO of the company, I received a phone call from him, he wanted me to do a meal for him at my home for visitors from Germany. Well one thing lead to the other I found an old little house, my husband restored it for me and I had my private restaurant for exclusive dinners. I sold it 2 years ago at a wonderful profit, with that money we bought a lovely log cabin on a game farm, we have giraffe, antelope and many other wild animals walking freely around us.
So when I really feel jailed in, we pack up and go to the farm, It is safe there to the extent that we sleep with open doors.

I am looking forward to hear that you have started with a draft on one of your books.

I lover Ginger, I am a great fan of dogs big and small and a great lover of nature and wild life.

Hi, Max! Thank you for your kind comment on my SparkPage a couple days ago. I am truly honored that you like my "I Am Beautiful" piece enough to share it with your children and friends. I was compelled to write it after reading a few SP blogs about low self-esteem. I truly believe that inner beauty will shine through in spite of our less-than-perfect exteriors. :-)

I understand your desire to be at your goal weight already. At times the process can be very frustrating, especially when I hit a stubborn plateau. Unfortunately, the only safe and effective way to accomplish my goal of better health is by making permanent positive lifestyle changes. Some days are harder than others. One major difference time around is the motivation and encouragement I get from my SP friends. It's amazing how comforting it is to hear a few kind words of support from someone who is in the same boat as I am.

Max, the journey to good health will not always be a smooth or a short one. However, please know that you are not alone. You have SP friends like me who are walking right alongside you, every step of the way. Have a wonderful week, and I look forward to talking to you again soon.

Hi, Max! Thank you for stopping by my SparkPage yesterday. I'm so glad to hear that you are walking with your dogs. Besides getting some great exercise, it is also a good time for thinking. It's not really possible for me because I take group exercise with loud music blaring. I have to concentrate on the moves in most of my classes like step aerobics or turbo kickboxing or I may fall flat on my face! ;-)

I am truly inspired by your determination to exercise for good health... You have overcome a lot of obstacles, and I admire your strength. Your story really makes me appreciate the freedom of movement. Instead of dreading exercise, I think of it as a blessing. After all, not everyone has the ability to move freely.

My new year is good so far as I am slowly getting back on track with more sensible food choices. I wish you success in easing your arthritis with exercise. Keep up the great work!
