Introduction Text October 7, 2008: I started on SparkPeople on December 6, 2006 and have been active on the site since I've started. The first nine months were great, lost 43.2 lbs., then I went downhill for over a year. Guess I could come up with several excuses, but I know that they all go back to the same thing: emotional eating. June 19, 2012: Well, still struggling with my weight, not even attempting to do anything right now. It has been an extremely emotional 2 years with the death of my youngest daughter. However, I am healing and though not attempting to lose weight, not a day goes by that I don't think about 'getting it together' so I can get back here and try again. In the meantime I've been studying and am now a Professional Counsellor. JUNE 19, 2012: To get back the incentive to make the changes necessary to get back on track and start eating healthy.

1) Setting up streaks for No Junk Food. 2) Remember that every day is a new day (instead of every week) 3) Log my food intake right after work, and on weekends as soon as practical after eating, so I am less likely to go overboard on the calories. 4) Include more strength training exercises in my routine.

I'm 57 years old, have two daughters (one deceased), two cats, one ferret and wild raccoons that drop by for feeding. I live in Vancouver, Canada. I enjoy drawing, handyman work, writing poetry and nature. Also enjoy collecting minerals. I am a Digital Production Artist and Professional Counsellor, and love my work.

One of my favourite movies is: Pay It Forward. One of my favourite songs is: Let There Be Peace On Earth. Both are favourites as they reflect my values. Another favourite song is: Where My Heart Will Take Me – it represents my growth from therapy and the freedom from abuse. I love rainbows, thunder/lightning, stormy oceans and have a childlike awe for nature.
