Thanks for the comment on my blog! I'm the opposite of you - meat and potatoes, but very few fruits and veggies, usually. Things they are a changing!

Merry Christmas, Chris! Thanks so much for your long, newsy note. Glad you got your wifi fixed! I hate SO MUCH when the computer is acting up.
I'm so impressed that you walk to do your shopping!!! I'm so glad you are in this for the long haul. I know it's the only way to go - lifestyle change. I'm really sorry I've wasted so much time to get to this point, but better late than never.
I laughed at your description of the three dogs. Sounds like a challenge. So nice of you to take your friends' dog. We also have two dogs - 1 will be 12 in April (Shiloh) and 1 is almost three (Edgar). Shiloh is big, calm and regal and Edgar is just the opposite - little, energetic and feisty. Kind of like a street urchin vs. royalty. We got Edgar as a puppy a couple years ago for free and when he arrived Shiloh just wanted to be left alone, but Edgar was determined to harass him continually. We ended up getting Edgar a shock collar because Shiloh was so distressed he couldn't keep his food down. Luckily we didn't ever have to shock Edgar - he was startled enough on the "vibrate" setting to stop his bad behavior. Now they're great pals and I think Edgar is helping to keep Shiloh young. Edgar will race back and forth across the room and Shiloh will stand in the middle of the room, turning back and forth as Edgar goes past, trying to catch him. It's really funny.
Had a bad yesterday - depressed. I'm sure it's sugar withdrawal because there wasn't anything in my circumstances to cause it. I stuck it out and didn't have any sugar and today I'm back to feeling awesome, so I'm so glad.
I googled "time in Victoria, Australia" and it told me it's 2:45 am Christmas morning there, so Merry Christmas! It's 10:00 am Christmas eve, here, so I still have plenty of time. Which is good because I've got several things left to do. I, too, haven't been real concerned this year for some reason. I had a ton of fun day before yesterday making labels for the kids' Christmas candy for their stockings. I found ideas on Pinterest for "reindeer poop" (malted milk balls), "snowman poop" (white chocolate chips), "chill pills" (candy to take when you're stressed), etc. You can see pictures of the finished product on my page in the pictures section.
I hope you have a wonderful, healthy, blessed day.

Thank you SO much for being my friend here. It makes ALL the difference.
That's awesome that you are now doing your shopping on foot. That's huge. How far do you have to walk to get there? Glad the fairy dust is continuing to motivate.
I think I've FINALLY figured out the fitness thing just in the last couple days and I'm so excited. I realized that I've done too much too fast in the past so I get too sore and quit right away. This time I set my treadmill to 2 mph (not even really a walk, more a stroll). My thinking is that anything is better than just sitting on the couch. Plus it's two-fold. I'm not sitting still AND I'm not eating! I started with half an hour while I watched one of my favorite TV shows. It's like I'm not even exercising. I'll increase the time first, and then gradually increase the speed. My goal is to use TV as an incentive. I want to get to the point that I will never watch TV without being on the treadmill.
It's so cool because this time back I feel really different. Like I'm REALLY going to succeed for the long haul this time. Very cool.
Have a wonderful day, my friend. I'm spending my day today getting ready for Christmas. I'm afraid I've left too many things for the last minute. Ooops. 2312 days ago
