Okay so here's the deal...two really really big reasons to lose some weight. First off...I'm getting married!!!! YAY for me! Second, I want to join the Navy, and I have to lose about 20 more pounds to get there. The faster I lose the weight, the sooner I'll be in and the sooner I get my life back on track!

My workout plan so far has been working my way up to being able to run again. I can jog for about 90 seconds straight before I'm winded. I am also working on my situps and pushups. All this after not having worked out all for about 3 years. It's definately a battle...but a fun one.

I found a running plan online called "From Couch Potato to 5K in 6 weeks" and I have been doing that lately...on week one as of today (6/18/09). It's a program specifically for people like me who can't really run and it increases your run/jog intervals with walking intervals. For example on week one you run or jog for 60 seconds then walk for 90 seconds and repeat for 20 minutes then week two is jogging for 90 seconds and walking for 2 minutes totaling 25 minutes and you work your way all the up to being able to jog for 30 minutes straight.

I enjoy hiking Cowles Mountain as well.

I am always looking for people to work out with. So if you'd like to join me in my quest, please contact me. Only thing is...i forget to check my sparkpeople page alot. You can get me on myspace easier http://www.myspace.com/nalashkspr or on Facebook Rachele Botelho
