Where did all this weight come from?
HI! Welcome to my page.
Winter has arrived and dumped 10 inches of snow on us!
I am not a snow person can do without it....but I bought a Rav4 in July and it drove very well in the snow. I think it can get me into trouble this winter if I'm not careful! It has been a long 2020 but it went by so quickly.

I live in Scranton, PA with my boyfriend, his daughter, one dog, two cats and three fish! For the Winter months I enjoy spending time inside (remember not a snow person and really not a cold weather person either). My exercise includes Walk Away the Pounds, Refit, Yoga and any other exercise video I can find - I'm always looking for something new.
I love being part of a group challenge, meeting new people and trying new things. I think being part of a group makes weight loss so much easier.
My boyfriend (Herb) has had many knee surgeries since 2017 and is still struggling to walk. He was in a straight cast for most of 2019 and put on a lot of weight. Together we are eating better, I'm exercising like crazy (Herb is doing what he physically can) and we kissed a few pounds goodbye over the year and are looking to kick more to the curb in 2021!
I have been with sparkspeople for a long time but have had some set backs and I was on and off the wagon many times. Starting in January 2017 I have stayed with it and have not given up.
I re-learned how to exercise, eat right and most importantly stay in contact with my groups for support. Although my eating habits have a tendency to get out of hand (especially when I am stressed) - I try hard every day to make the right decisions (some days I fail but most days I succeed) - I love to eat and I have a big sweet tooth!
I am so thankful for all my friends here on SparksPeople - they are so motivational and help me stay on track. And are always there to get me back on track after a stressful day.
I have also found it very helpful to blog and I do not get blogs posted as often as I would like but when I get them posted I love to hear the feedback from everyone. Take a look some of my blogs and leave me a message!!
The beginning of 2019 I was 220 lbs and in August 2020 I am 246 lbs. Currently today (Dec. 28) I am 242 lbs. This is evidence that even though I had a big weight gain - I am currently heading in the right.... I will continue to move forward.
I am actually happy in my body. I do not look in the mirror and cringe, but I know the weight is not a healthy weight for me. I am still working hard and dealing with stress the best I can and I know I will reach my goals.
In July 2020 I was diagnosed with high blood pressure (a family curse), I just stated medication and it is currently under control. Then in August 2020 was diagnosed with pre-diabetic, again on medicine and it is under control.
My motto is: Never Give Up!

My short term goals is to be under 235 lbs by January 31, 2020.
My Program:
Eating right, exercising 6 days a week (with cardio and strength training), and taking time for me. I found yoga in 2018 and love it. I do that at least once a week, I do Refit and that is super fun! I do my exercise videos from youtube and just added Walking Away The Pounds. I love finding new ways to exercise.

I am from Scranton, PA. I am engaged, 49 years old and live with one dog, two cats, three fish, one fiancee and one step-daughter.
