Congrats on the pregnancy and the weight loss so far! Super impressive! I'm due in July too - yay for us!! Have you looked at BabyFit at all? I'm still logging my nutrition and fitness on sparkpeople.com because their database of food options seems more extensive, but BabyFit.com has a lot of great threads and information that you may enjoy plus there's the benefit of everyone being in the same boat. 2543 days ago

The paleo diet is one that focuses on eating healthy fats, meats, then vegetables in very small amounts, fruits and nuts are things eaten rarely due to their high carb content. For a really great book on it try; Neanderthin by Ray Audette. There are also other titles you can find at the local library, plus My site: http://paleoconnections.blogspot.com/
The paleo diet list of foods to avoid are, ALL grains, beans, legumes, potatoes, dairy and sugar. Approved foods are ghee (a type of butter) butter although it is considered dairy food it is ok for those who are not lactose intolerant, you can cook with coconut oil, but not canola or soy oil, and no other vegetable oils for cooking. You can use olive oil on salads but not for cooking. Also you can use bacon grease for cooking. You can eat; grass fed beef, chicken, fish, pork (bacon!) any grass fed meat (elk, lamb, etc.) and any organic fowl (birds like duck and geese, etc.) eggs are ok too as are low carb vegetables. Please feel free to join us at the 12 Week paleo challenge team. Even though we are on week 5, You can join at any time and learn more about the paleo diet. 2543 days ago
