Hi, I'm Polly, I live in South West Michigan. I am 29 years old and I have been married to my wonderful husband, Nicholas, for 5 years. We do not have kids, just a special needs Shih Tzu dog who is 11 years old. My husband and I are first time homeowners as of Oct. 2009 and we have having a great time making updates to it along with yard work & gardening, fun, fun!!!

I have done a lot of yo-yo-ing with my weight over the years. I was a chubby teenager and a super skinny 18-24 year old. My highest weight ever was 190 pounds and my lowest weight was 105. For the past few years I have been fluctuating between 150-170 which is just a tad too chunky for my own comfort so that is why I am here.

I have a permanent injury to my right hand/wrist due to a serious accident in the summer of 2006 which makes doing certain exercises and strength training moves impossible for me. I suffer from a neurological condition called CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) that pretty much pains me everyday. So for the most part I am working on cardio but I do, do a bit of strength training when I can.

I want my confidence back. I am a former lead singer of a rock & blues band and I used to be very social and active but after my injury and some stressful family issues, I fell into a depressed rut. It's no way to live and I am on my way to getting my physical health as well as my metal health in check!

How are you? I haven't checked in for a while. Worked out way to hard the last couple of months trying to lose those last 10 pounds and hurt myself. Now I am waiting for knee surgery in August.

I am currently trying to stay positive and happy with my size right now and hopefully whittle down here and there with weight training and stretching types exercising. I am close to my maintenance goal (size 12/ lg). Just about a half size away. I would love to be a 10 by the end of the year but for now just want to be happy in the now and not stress about the future. Life is too short for me to continue to have regrets about my size.

I need to work on my stress eating at night because that will unravel the work I am doing if I don't get it under control. So if I focus on my health instead of the weight I am sure it will catch up to my brain eventually.

Wish me luck on my new journey,

Can I call you Rocky? Because you are a Rock. You come back fighting, even though the odds are against you. I found that what made me binge is the following:

Emotions (you have had plenty of that element)
Gluten (found in Wheat, Oats, Barley and Rye)
    Artificial Sweeteners( Sweet&Low, Splenda, Equate)
    High Fructose Corn Syrup.

If I have not had a stressful day, just eating any of the above sets me off on a binge. Do some research. If you eat anything with wheat or oats in it, try going 1 day without it and see how you feel. If you drink diet soda or diet anything, try going a few days without it and see how you feel. Also, read your labels. You will find tat a lot of food has HFCS in it.

Eating less is already hard, but the addition of these things just takes the control out of your hand. I pray that the Lord give you peace and a strong mind so that you can make it through. In the name of Jesus. Stay strong friend and thanks for stopping by.

Polly, I totally relate to your comment on my last blog. I don't really know what the solution to hating your body is except to say that you should just wear those shorts and sleeveless shirts anyway. I did that yesterday, and it really wasn't that bad. I thought about it a little bit, but after a while I forgot all about it. I think ultimately we are much crueler to ourselves than anyone else could be. Sure, there might be some people who look at me with disgust when I wear a sleeveless shirt, but the people who love me couldn't care less, and I know that's true for you, too. I command you to wear some shorts this week and be proud of your body!

Hey girlie! It took me a while to get back to you too. Life just seems so busy sometimes. I've been sparkin' again for quite a while but, just like you said, I've fallen off the wagon a few times. I think that it is normal for all of us to have a few "incidents" along the way but I know we are working towards that healthy lifestyle and we are better because of it. One day we WILL make goal! Hope everything's going well for you. It's nice that it's getting warmer out now. I think that makes it easier to get out and move. Keep in touch!

    Love, Jess
