Losing These Last 15lbs and Keeping Them Off!
Hi there. My name is Katy, I'm British and I'm 25 years old. I'm currently a student about to start an English Degree in September 2011. I'm a huge reader and can't wait to study Literature for the next three years.
My journey to weight loss started when I was around 17 years old when I stepped on the scales and saw 180lbs. I'd been a big child and just kept getting bigger and bigger. I got told constantly that it was "puppy fat" and that I would grow out of it even though I knew ...

My journey to weight loss started when I was around 17 years old when I stepped on the scales and saw 180lbs. I'd been a big child and just kept getting bigger and bigger. I got told constantly that it was "puppy fat" and that I would grow out of it even though I knew that wasn't the case.
By the age of 18, I had lost 45lbs and got down to 135lbs. I felt fantastic and finally felt like the real me. I studied Performing Arts at college until I was 20 and kept the weight down through dance and daily warm-up's in the course and also trips to the gym which slowly faded out.
Half way through my second year at college, I met my now fiance, Alex. After being together for just under a year, we found out we were having a baby. I gained during my pregnancy obviously and once I'd had my daughter, I was at 150lbs.
I hovered around 145-148lbs until September 2009 when I finally started to use Spark People properly (having been a member since early 2008). Between September and January, I dropped to my lowest ever of 132lbs. I also started running in the October and ran a couple of 5K's, a 10K and a half marathon in 2010.
It's now June 2011 and I'm back up to 145lbs. I'm an emotional eater - have been since a very young age - and I'm finding myself eating stupid amounts of food to make myself feel better. I've stopped running and working out in general and although I've kicked the habit in the middle of May, I started smoking again.
I'm back here again, with my goals reset to do this once and for all. I'm sick of bouncing back and to with this; one minute feeling amazing and the next minute feeling like a fat, lazy hippo. It's my fiance's birthday in August and we have booked a hotel room for a nice night out together. My aim is to be 130lbs by this date and to tone down as much as I can. I struggle to fit in workouts with being the full-time parent but I need to make the time, even if that's at 5AM!
Support and motivation is greatly needed! Which is why I'm back at Spark People!
