I lost weight 3 years ago the old fashioned way, counting calories on Sparkpeople. I craved the entire time, then gained it back and then some. May 2, 2015 I started Trim Healthy Mama. As of today, May 15, I've lost a few pounds. More importantly, I've lost my cravings - even when I taste carb & fat ridden foods.
-------------------------
Update on May 8, 2016 - I lost 18 pounds while following THM principles over several months, fell off the bandwagon, but only gained 3 pounds back. Not bad. I'm back on the THM plan and plan to keep going.
--------------------------

Other goals I want to do at a lower weight:
Hike the Blue Beaver Trail up Lookout Mountain.
Spend a night at the Hike-Inn.
Swim with the manatees in FL.
------------------
May 2019 - The weight I lost in 2016, I've gained back. I'm working on weight loss again, and I've lost 10 pounds over 3 months, 5 in March, none in April, 5 in May. I really think 3 to 5 pounds a month is realistic for me.

Oct. 2019 - I've lost 23 pounds since March, average loss is 3 pounds in a month. I try to walk 20 minutes a day, mostly I do. And I do not stay perfectly on my plan.

My eating plan: Using the Sparkpeople suggested diet for my age, height & weight. Most lunches are a Premier Shake with a dark chocolate bar of 150 calories in the afternoon. Mostly avoiding processed foods, but no banned foods.

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. It’s snow joke. . . Friday’s here, and we’re ready for the weekend. Since so many of us got snow this week, I thought that today should be full of jokes that are truly “snow laughing matter.” So, let’s get our endorphins a-goin’ and a-flowin’ with our morning coffee – or your favorite beverage of choice.
So get your snow boots on and get ready to roll!

emoticon Why don’t mountains get cold?
    They wear snow caps.

emoticon Many people think “icy” is the easiest word to spell.
Now that I think about it, I see why.

emoticon If H2O is the formula for water, what is the formula for ice?
    H2O cubed.

emoticon What did the snow plow driver say when he was asked about his job?
There’s no business like snow business!

emoticon When I told my wife I was too tired to shovel the driveway, and throw some ice melt on the front porch – all I got were icy stares.

emoticon I had to run to my car in the sleet, and I got pelted with the freezing rain.
I want you to know it hurt like hail!

    Enjoy your weekend!
