For the past few years, I have been the primary care taker of a chronically ill child...now it's time to take care of Me and reclaim my health. Our bodies are the "temples of the Lord" and we need to be fit and healthy to share His message with the world.

My Goals:
My goals for 2019

1. To "lay aside the weight" of 60 lbs.

2. To become a healthier, wiser and stronger wife, mother, daughter & sister.

3. To become a published author.

4. To become more successful by helping others achieve success.

5. To "live well, laugh often & love much."


My Program:
With a diagnosis of Type II Diabetes, I'm focusing on eating "clean" and having 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. Also, drinking more water.
Fitness consists of doing walking tapes, Zumba, and strength training. My family is very supportive in my efforts and that's a blessing.



Personal Information:
I'm married to a wonderful, godly man (27 years and counting) and we have a beautiful 25 yr old daughter. This child is amazing. She has gone through more in the past 12 years than some of us will go through in a lifetime. God has carried us through it all and He' s still making a way.

    Thanks for your nice comment on my blog about 20 things I gained by losing HALF of me. I'm glad it touched you and hope it inspired you too. I really need to remember each and every one of these great things as I struggle NOW with maintenance. It doesn't get any easier, watching what you eat--believe me, except that you get to enjoy the benefits of the weight loss.
    Hope you can get that diabetes under control, I think a weight loss will have a significant impact on that. I know my blood pressure has improved greatly since I lost 172 lbs. When I was in the hospital recently for minor hernia repair surgery, my BP was consistently 100/50. That is in comparison to 140/90 back before I lost weight. I am still on some of my BP meds, however, the doctor wants to wean me off them slowly so there's no boomerang effect. It seems to be working. I am completely off one of the meds, and have halved two others. At my peak, I was on 5 different meds to try to get my BP under control, and still I hovered around 140/90--NOT GOOD! I was borderline pre-diabetic for years, but never got to the point of needing medication for that, thank goodness, and now my blood sugar is well within normal range. What we do to our own bodies by overeating is devastating, and only we have the power to change that. Good luck on your journey!
