Look what I found outside this morning! SPRING!! Kinda wish I had written this one down so I can make it again.Somewhere behind that smoke is a beautiful mountain. It was a beautiful evening to walk over for Thanksgiving dinner. That and the 6k round trip made room for pumpkin pie 😄Sometimes you just need to get out and make a splash in this world. Even better if you get to get out and do this with 2 year olds.Just finished my first 7 mile race. Love running with my daughter!Headed out today to a 10k hike. We were excited about the hike and fall colours. Mother nature had other ideas. Just finished my 7 mile race and shaved 2 minutes off my last race giving me a new PR. My husband ran his 5K. Another beautiful day. Headed out to the lake for a 5k run. Got a PR! 36:22 mins. That's 2 minutes faster the last time I ran this route 4 months ago.Half way through today's 18K hike. Great day to go completely around this lake, lots of running water and challenges on the trail. I'll be living in the shower now for a couple of hours.Was going to head out for a run but my two favourite puddle jumpers showed up at my door and wanted nana yo come play. Went for a walk around the lake and lots of puddle jumping.20K through streams, muddy hills, fog and really cool miss covered bridges. Being healthy is so much fun!Off for a couple of days with a flu bug but today did a 4 hour hike though creek beds, up muddy hillsides and along a lake close to home. Shower felt sooooooooooo good. My husband is terrified of suspension bridges but was determined to come out on a 3 hour hike with me today. So proud of him! Personally I like the bouncy wiggly jiggly as you go across.Getting the veggies ready for the bbq. Cauliflower, mushrooms, peppers and celery. Fresh chives and parsley from the garden. I sent my husband in first to knock away any spiders.Another 2 pounds down this week. Double chin and jowls gone again. Definitely a challenge to get back on track after regaining 35 pounds but definitely worth the work. Down 70 in total half way to goal.A fun, active Canada Day with my daughter and the twins. Ponies, rock climbing, a healthy bbq, long walk and now settling the girls into a movie while we pass time until the fireworks start. Hope everyone had a great weekend!An incredibly busy week was broken up when my son called, "Hey mom, want to come out on the quads with me?" Yes, mom does. Mom always does. My son brought be a coffee cup from Twedes Cafe (Twin Peaks). We take so many things goes granted yet something so common to me was brand new to him.Just when I thought I had found all the good running trails I finally find the hidden old train tressels along the lake and a wonderful new running trail.Great way to spend the afternoon, throwing rocks into the river.Went to the zoo with my daughter and her twins. We rented a bike to get around. What a fun day and great workout...oh those hills!Spent some time this afternoon on the river. Couldn't get my camera out in time to catch the deer swimming in front of me, it was pretty cool to see. Love canoeing, great workout and we beat the rain!The hills! Working on a new trail run. The hills are insane. Starting at the lake edge in 3KM you go up (second photo) then back down to lake edge, each hill got higher. Since it's not a loop you get to turn around and do them again. My legs are jello.River run at sunrise. Definitely rebuilding my speed, what a great way to start the day!So many changed this year. Getting back into a running routine, working on removing stress and building our forever home. Absolutely love how our fixer up mobile is transforming.Having this little beach across the street has been so much fun this summer. Runs in the morning, evening quiet time and so much joy watching the twins as they hop from rock to rock and splash in the water.I want to embrace life like a four year old who just rode their bike without training wheels for the first time.After some stressful days there's nothing like sitting on the water watching the sunset. I needed this.We are getting out so much for walks in the evening now. When we moved here a couple of months ago we had no clue how much our life was going to change for the better. What an incredible, healthy way to end the day and relieve stress.I may be a tad guilty.Heading out on a 10k hike. I've done a bit of the trail on this side of lake but not much. Let's go explore it together.First KM done, so flat and easy it was hard not to run but I know what's coming up next for, hills, very.steep.hillsPant, pant, 6 minutes of this grade. Water, sweat, pant. One more steep hill to go then into the unknownMade it to 3km mark, top of third hill. Really understanding the phrase, "Rest here, tomorrow we reach summit." Turned off my music to take in the complete silence. The next part will be all new to me. Onward hopefully not upward!Anyone want to guess what came after hill three? Anyone? Yes, hill four. This one even steeper. Steep enough that stairs and a railing were built into the trail.After hill four came a beautiful creek tumbling into the lake and I'm surrounded by the sweet smell of wild blackberries.From one end of this lake to the other only ended up being 8km. It was a nice outing, the hills were definitely challenging. The last part was pretty flat which let me end with a bit of running.And bonus km! My husband was supposed to meet me at the other end of the lake but got lost. (No comment) I chose to walk the 2.5km to him, I knew it would be 5he easier option. Total hike, 10.5km! It's been 3 years since I ran this course, I have a month to prepare for it. Not sure which was harder, going up this steep hill with the loose rocks or going down.After a month of thyroid nonsense and gaining 20 pounds of fluid in a matter of a few days it feels wonderful to see the scale back down, all the extra chins gone, and feeling like myself again.Date day with my husband. Got a small break this morning and made it out for a walk along the lake.Three days in Disney, 70,000 steps so far.What a beautiful day for a run!😆 some days it feels this way10 days after surgery to remove the mass in my throat I'm back to running. Old me would have glanced out the window and said that's a really pretty moon. Healthy Tami dragged her husband across the street to watch the super moon rise on the river. He was very glad I did.Three weeks since having the mass removed from my neck and my breathing is back to normal. Hardly any scarring left! Got the nod to go ahead and run as much as I want. Looking forward to being able to add a few more race medals once the world is back on its feet. And I have a neck again! A jawline and a neck!Just doing a little self isolation today on the river.Looks like my business could be shut down for months which is terrifying but I'm working on meditation, self isolation and taking advantage of hidden spots just minutes from my front door while I figure things out.

So happy to be back in my happy place.I'm so happy to be back running. This week I've logged 20KM and want to push to 30. I love combing nature and running and have been hitting the trails early in the morning for some healthy alone time.Early morning hike today, had the trail to ourselves for the first hour. Great morning for a hike!Evening 3k walk around the lake, love having this in my neighbourhood!Since July 1st I upped my trail running and hiking, logging over 120KM and losing 18 pounds. Lots of exploring and getting out early in the day before the peoples show up.Down another pound this week! Started my day sitting on my front porch drinking my coffee while the sun came up. Getting ready to go off grid for a couple of days to go hiking and canoeing.Today I took a break from everything and headed out to the trails. I killed 8KM of steep hills, some rain and a lot of sweat. I was really happy with my pacing and gait. The trip over top of this hill was just a little reminder that my legs would like to turn around now. This is absolutely my favourite way to reduce stress.10KM run to start my day. Feeling so much stronger than a few weeks ago and loving getting back to our healthy lifestyle ❤My husband and I each wrote out 6 workout activities to help up stay focused as we head into cooler months. We each draw one for the other person, some are strength training some are cardio. Jeff gets to start with a 5KM walk, I am doing 50KM of hiking over the next 30 days.Smokey day but still got out for a 6k hike.
Looking forward to the rain that's coming our way.Bought this trench coat last month, couldn't e end get it on. Today, on and completely done up ðŸŽ‰ðŸŽ‰I could have went for a 10k run today. I could have done a boot camp. I could have put up all the remaining baseboards but instead I took my grand daughters across the street to the river and taught them to skip stones. Sometimes we choose wisely.
Also, apparently one big SPLASH is a really big skip according to five year olds.Dates with my husband have turned back into adventures and healthy outings. Today I took him to a bird sanctuary where I grew up. He loves when birds will land in your hand. I distracted him when I bought the tickets and seed so I could surprise him. 6KM walk through the wetlands.17KM of hiking. I can listen to the sound of thundering water in the rapids all day.Running 5K in the mist this morning and celebrating being down another pound this week. Woot!Great 12k hike to one of my favourite spots. 6k straight up, great workout.Spent some time this afternoon taking in nature and celebrating living a healthy lifestyle. Today I decided to hike until I was done. At the 12KM point I hit the wall and was done. Which would have been fine but I was 3KM away from my car.
Three months ago I restarted hiking and running. What started with 2KM hikes a couple of weeks has certainly grown. Over the next four days I have 30KM of hikes planned.After hiking 10KM this isn't really a sign I want to see but we did it. The equivalent to 50 flights of stairs.
Getting healthy, getting stronger. Now if someone could carry me from the couch to the bath I'd appreciate it.Got to spend the afternoon with the newest peanut! She's just 5 pounds and her whole body fit the length of my hand. Nana to six now and I love it!Almost 30KM of hiking this weekend. Sure I had the quarantine set back (who didn't) and gained but I've lost that plus more.Out trying new things!
