cat and pollen need more rain..

Thursday, May 29, 2008

I hate rain. But when pollen season comes, I have to rethink my opinion of it. Up the valley a few miles is the grass-seed capital of the world. And it's that time of year when you can see those big white floaty things covering like fog. Ugh. When I was a kid I didn't have these allergies. Seems every year they get worse. So on top of being continualy tired, I now have the nose, head, and breathing issues that come with Spring. Claritin is my new best friend. lol.

update on my kitty, Missy_Girl. Vet did a grand job sewing up her tongue. He thinks that it was not a cat that she tangled with, more like a racoon. (we live one house away from a canal where they live) She had a hole thru the roof of her mouth up thru her nose, her tongu had been sliced in half length-wise, and a hole thru the bottom of her mouth. She still stinks, but we are glad to have her safe at home!! She is getting the pampering treatment, watered down soft food, and amoxil drops, and lovies galore..

actually lost weight this week, was beginning to think I was just going to keep ballooing!! My mind is just not in weight-loss mode right now. I read all this motivating stuff that my team mates are writing, and I have been so tired, I kinda goes right over my head, or in one eye, and out the other.
Ever felt like that?? as a leader maybe this a good learning experience, so I will know how to inspire someone else down the road.. If I can keep holding the rope that's dangling me over the mountain... lol

Just zeroing in on the cat part. Baby food is good for pampering too! I'm so glad to hear she's home and getting the love she needs to feel better. What an ordeal!

I've got six kitties of my own and I love them like crazy and worry about them like crazy too. I've got two who are both going through health issues and I'm constantly messing with them. I think they understand that I'm trying to help and make them feel better, though they struggle against me sometimes. They always forgive me and I get purrs and headbutts. Missy Girl must be happy just being home and with her Mommy.

Good luck with her recovery! Good luck with the rain dance and stock up on Claritin just in case. emoticon

I think some good purring and kitty lovies may help you get your brain back in motivation mode. After all - who'd take such awesome care of her if not you!?! You have to keep getting healthier! Yep, no other choice!

Hang on to that rope, fearless LIME leader!! your limeys are on the other end and we will pull you right up. I have felt the same way you are feeling...more than I would like to admit! There are times you just lose your steam--other things come up in pampering your healing cat--and you put your energies elsewhere. I think the real trick is to develop such good health habits that they become totally second nature so backsliding ...or dangling doesn't happen often. I'm just talking the talk here, Cindy! I have FAR to go until all my good health habits are second nature....but that is my goal. We limes will stick together. Day by day, week by week--we will hone our skills and soon they will be a piece of cake....excuse me, I mean a piece of FRUIT!! haha
