going in a cirlce

Ever felt like you were going in a circle, instead of forward? I'm feeling that way today. Got my colonoscopy done, and thought I would be ready to completely restart my weight loss journey. Doesn't seem to have happend that way. I work better when I have a plan, and right now am plan-less. Want to get the book YOU on a Diet, but have to wait till payday. Started checking it out from their website, and I don't know... I'm just not all that enthused.
So today I spent almost all day checking out diffrent weight loss choices. Clean eating, calorie cylcing, the weighdown workshop, the thin within, nothing is calling to me. So for now I guess I am still just trying to make healthier choices. Working in the busy office tommorrow, so I will get to ride my bike to and from work, and hubbie will bring me a sub from Big town Hero ( best sandwiches around) for lunch.

My anniversary is coming up next week. On the 8th Hubbie and I will have been married for 13 years. Because of our busy schedules with work and church commitments, we will probably end up going out to dinner. There is this new place that looks good. Cabo Grill. Thinking it would be a good place to find a healthy entree.

    Hi Cindy,

    I have You on a Diet...don't bother getting it if you are looking for something new. It is just like every other solid plan but written by 2 great docs who are very clever with an emphasis the good tried and true basics---eat less, move more, clean eating, don't deprive--little bits of favorite things, food log, more fruits & veggies, lean meats, whole grains, drink water, increase exercise-cardio and strength, take vitamins and supplements...good solid info with humorous quips and stories of patients--but nothing you don't already know from other plans. It is a plan you can live with and has good solid medical based information but there is no real new information. Funny cartoons though that go along with it and some good recipes!
    I think keeping a good food log is key--when I get sloppy is when I stop journaling. I don't like to journal but it really helps me plan and then I can see that I need another veggie rather than more bread!!

    Cindy... check out the DASH diet... it is to stop hypertension but it is a good all around plan and I loosely follow this.. I feel most comfortable with this plan... it has similarities to the old WW plans before they started going all fat and fiber and points system... oh, never mind... you were probably two years old back then! Whatever you do, just do it!

    Hey, Cindy. There's too many choices and it's overwhelming, isn't it? I get tired of the same things very quickly. Of all the advise I have heard, staying away from white food - flour, pasta, bread, rice, etc, seems to work the best for people, but I know for me that is really tough. I like low fat eating - if you don't eat it, it doesn't end up as fat on your hips... I don't know. I wish there was a good answer that would pop right out at you, but it may be a combination that works for you.

    Congratulations on your anniversary coming up. It is hard to do something really special when life is going on all around you, isn't it? I've been married only 5 years, and we do try to get away for a weekend, but of course, my son is almost 20 so he's glad when he gets rid of us for a weekend. LOL
