So how did I do?

Drumroll, please...

Not so well.

I definitely have the walking under control. I have even added a new goal, which is to average 15,000 steps a day, and I am achieving that. Actually, I think I need to shake up my exercise a little. I don't think I burn enough calories for the amount of time I spend on cardio. I used to walk up a hill near my home, but it has gotten difficult as the days grow shorter. I will probably put the goal of changing up my cardio on hold for another month. I have joined a health club, but it will not open until November 10.

I did very well with the goal of avoiding processed sugars for a week. Thanks to Naomi on the Goonies team for setting this up as a challenge. I think that helped. But I went off track, and I have had a hard time getting back on. Also, I was compensating for the lack of sugar with added peanut butter, and I think that hurt. However, today was a good day for me in that regard (no processed sugar or peanut butter). So I'll report again after this week.

As for the weight loss, I really haven't lost. I was 193.4 when I started. I was 193.0 today. I had dropped below 190 and got up to 195, so it's been all over the place. Again, today was an encouraging day.

I have not been so great with tracking food or blogging. I have very limited access during the day at work, and at night I am exhausted. I have been going against my rules with the food tracking and need to improve.

As for commenting on other blogs, I have left more words of encouragement during this time, but I think there is room for improvement.

I feel like I am rambling, and I apologize if that is the case. I'll report again next week.

Hi there. Go ahead and ramble if you must. Blogs are the greatest place to ramble. Keep up the good work, and don't get bumbed out about what you don't do.

I find your attitude great. Don't get discouraged about the weight. Look at other indicators. How you are feeling, inches lost, energy levels.
Tracking food intake is so important. My guesses are never accurate. It is the way I hold myself accountable. Get back to it.

I didn't think you rambled at all, but why apologize, it's your blog.
I've found the best way to get the most out of your cardio is to do it first thing in the morning. I know that's impossible sometimes, but the earlier the better.
As far as food, you do what you can. I think if you have a basic idea of what works for you and what doesn't, that's a good place to start.
About peanut butter, I was eating it every day with jam for lunch, and I switched to almond butter. I LOVE it... just a thought.
Take good care, and go easy on yourself :)
