It's all coming together...

Almost 4 weeks without a cigarette and even though I miss it daily, I refuse to give in. Mostly because DH says if I start smoking again so will he and as bad as it sounds I care about his lungs and heart and overall general health more than I do my own.

I bumped up the cardio this week and thank goodness finally dropped another 2 pounds. My legs officially feel like they have been put through an old wringer washer. The dog thinks I'm a saint, he's never been walked so much. However, we are having a money marathon for work this weekend so I'm reconciled to the bike at home til Sunday at which point I will probably pass out from lack of sleep.

I have three major bad habits left to overcome: Late night snacking. Because of the fact I'm up late and no one is around to see me eat it, I assume it doesn't count. So, this week I started chewing gum or getting myself a cup of tea instead. Hence, the two pounds. Second is nibbling. I have to stop reaching into things to "taste" them. After 3 or 4 times I know what it tastes like. When this happens I am nervous or bored, so it's time to stop and find something else to do. Last is soda. I can't drink diet that fake sugar gives me an instant migraine. So, I limit myself to one soda a day, which is an improvement over what I WAS doing, but I need to either cut it out completely or drink that flavored sparkling water which since I'm not eating the sugary stuff is starting to actually taste sweet.

I'll be back at the gym Monday pounding my feet on that treadmill and dreaming of the day when I run a 5K finish it.
