Back...after a long time of silence...

Friday, July 24, 2009

This may not be the best time for me to jump back in, but I'm feeling a little desperation, and I know that journaling helps! I'm at a stalemate with my weight... And feeling desperation as a doctor appointment looms in the near future!

I am BUSY working on our 50th Anniversary REUNION for my Class of '59, which will be held in mid-September--not that far away! It has been a GREAT project, and I'm having a wonderful time re-connecting with classmates. There were only 22 (?) of us, so we were a close class at the time! And, in 50 years, I have kept in touch with several, so it's not like ALL 'new' ...

The NEED for exercise is haunting me! I was so inactive during the winter months, and just can't seem to step it up. Now, we are having HOT weather, and I still can't seem to make myself get out in the early hours when it is so glorious outdoors! I should be WALKING every day!!!

Well, that's about it for today... will try to get back here more often! This is a JOURNEY to health, and I should be recording it!

Blessings, Lyn

THANKS, Sharon and Karen, for your encouragement and your valuable hints on things I can do! Have already started parking further away, and trying to do extra walking in stores... Also, making two trips in home when I could do tasks in one trip, etc. Yes! I can see there are many ways to 'step it up' !!

Hi Lyn....I recently went to my 50th class reunion and it was such a wonderful time reconnecting with old friends. Our class of '59 has a reunion every five years so I got to see lots of faces I knew but this 50th, many returned that had never been to reunion. My memories of that three-day affair will carry me for a long time.

Get busy writing that book. If you don't do it now when will you do it? My book is in the design cover stage, which you can view on my blog, and I hope it'll be in print by the end of the month or early September. My book is fiction. It was on my "Bucket list" to write a novel so now I've done it. I had such a good time that I've started another.

I need to start taking better care of myself, too. My weight has gotten way out of control and I need to take control back or I won't live to be 100 like I want to...just kidding. I would like to hang around for several more years, though. God has blessed me by healing me of cancer, not only once but twice, kidney and lung, so I need to lose this weight and honor what He has done for me.

Good luck to you both with your weight loss journey and with your book.

    Hugs,
    Sharon

I feel your frustration, Lynn. I too have a problem waking in the wee hours of the morning.

Do you live near a mall?

Do you have any Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Lbs DVD's? Those are great for indoor walking.

You can get a lot of steps by being inefficient throughout the day. LOL Park far away from any entrances. Take 2 trips to a room instead of one. Walk in place, walk in place while doing all your tasks, watching TV, folding laundry, etc.

If you live near a large store of any kind, walk indoors at those stores. Walk the perimeters of the grocery stores and then down each eisle, BEFORE you grocery shop.

    The list is endless.

    YOU CAN DO THIS!
