Been thinking alot. I can get outside but in this case it was smelling the whole day and It wouldn't have worked. I have to try to eat my stuff before they do so I'm not hungry either. I was trying to eat my stuff with them to keep the routine in tack a little but It isn't working right now and I will change that for a while. I will definitely try CBoogs idea with the Vick's. Thank you all for the understanding... emoticon

Next time something good is cooking, and the smell is driving you crazy, put some Vick's ointment under your nose....you won't smell the food any more!!!

You will get there. You will be able to eat crock potted meat. I would pass the noodles by, but the meat will be fine. Maybe the next time he makes it you WILL be able to eat it.
But I do understand how hard it is to smell food all day and not be able to eat solids...

    Oh Terry,

This is so tough. But, I like Ellen's advice of taking a walk. Now that you are going to have such a differnt relationship with food you probably have to really change up a lot of stuff. Thank goodness he can cook for A. and himself. That can free you up to take a walk, or a nap or do anything to help "you" feel better.

Especially at this stage. You have thrust yourself into something pretty drastic, so you have got to figure out ways to manage. It will all take time. I am so glad you are here at spark. I don't think you will find this level of support in real life!

I understand about smelling the food when you can't have it. I have not had the surgery you have, but my family make foods I try not to eat....if makes it so much harder when you have to smell it. best wishes to you on your journey.

Maybe go for a walk while he's having dinner; then your doing something good for yourself rather than being tortured by the smell.
    Good Luck!

Keep up the good work. It will get easier. Next time he makes beef stroganoff, make sure you have the calories available to have a small portion. Have a big low cal salad for lunch and the calories should be available.
    Good Job today! emoticon
