Off to a good start!

Some of our SparkTampa team members met last night for a meet and greet. What a great meeting! I hate to say it, but it was a lot better than my expectations. I think I was keeping my expectations low to avoid disappointment, and I was very pleasantly surprised.

We had a great mix of ages, both men and women, from different parts of the Tampa Bay area, and at different fitness levels. We were all at different stages moving towards meeting our goals, but we had so much in common and so much to share. How great is it to meet with someone who has just started on the journey, like myself, but at the same time to get inspiration from someone who has lost over 100 pounds over the last year?!?

There were so many helpful tips, inspirational stories, new ideas, funny anecdotes... I think we were able to get a good sense of where everyone is in their journey and what they're looking to get out of SparkTampa. We brainstormed a bit on ideas for new meetings and activities, and all in all it was very encouraging.

I can't say thank you enough to those team members who took the time to stop in and share a little bit of themselves. As is always the case, we are so different in many ways, but so alike in the most important ways. We all have similar struggles, no matter how close or how far we are to our goals.

I hope the next meeting is even better, and that we can find a way to take time out of our lives and connect with each other. I hope to meet even more SparkTampa team members and find out more about their personal stories.

Here's to a fantastic weekend, SparkTampa!! Get out there and make it happen!

Outstanding Team Leader effort! I know all who attended really enjoyed it! This will "spark" future gatherings.
