A Spark at a Time

Thursday, May 12, 2011

So, I've been doing the Curves thing three times a week for 30 minutes and walking for at least two times a week for 50 minutes for a month now. I have seen half an inch come off my abdomen, and 2 lbs lost in ALL that time. I am STILL consuming way too many calories. I wish I could hammer down the MOST food I can get for 1200 calories that makes you feel full like the Curves counselor told me and stick with it until I see a decent weight loss, then as you work out more, etc, you can eat more calories. I just haven't really tried hard enough. I tend to cave in and eat what I want, and that's sabatoging the workouts, etc. I'm bummed, and disappointed in myself.

I just wanted to say that you are doing good, at least you are doing something. Just take it one day at a time.

OK, I understand that you would like to see more evidence of all your hard work. I get that. But let's celebrate the success of having lost a couple of pounds and stuck with your commitment to exercise regularly. I'm very proud of you doing that.

Terri's made a good suggestion. Figure out one adjustment you can make to your food intake. It may be as simple as figuring out a substitution for a trigger food or limiting your portions in some way.

I always feel fuller when I eat lots of veggies with a meal, and I discovered I can be satisfied with little or no dressing on salads, which also fill me up. I substitute plain red wine vinegar for salad dressing or sometimes salsa.

I also know that even with the strictest of calorie monitoring, I don't lose weight as effectively unless I'm drinking a LOT of water.

Keep the faith, Trace. Step by step...

Can you work on one food issue at a time? For me I have to really watch the ice cream. I also try to increase the veggies & fruit.

All in all you are going in the right direction so please stick with it.
