Being Supervisor a Challenge

Thursday, May 12, 2011

I have been observing so far. I want to do the new job well. There is undercurrent and I am learning why some of it happened. Though I cannot look at somethings if a team member wants to share it with me that is ok. There was some things that the team members felt were unfair and they could not do anything about. I am going encouraging them in certain areas. I do not want to step on toes. However my manager is encouraging my team members to just deal with me instead of the other supervisor. She let me know that today.
I feel I am doing good right now. I have decided to observe and listen right now. I am not offering my opinions right now. Once I get a full understanding of the situation I am going to start counseling my team where they need to improve.
It is definitely a challenge that I am not only willing but able to handle.

Gratitude List:
1. That I am up to the challenge
2. Ally's boyfriend doesn't live in the neighborhood
3. Up for the challenge
4. Researching accounts is keeping me busy
5. Computer getting set up
6. Having fun
7. God's guideance
8. Love
9. Husband's support
10. Ally growing up though it scares me

Good night sleep well,
Andi

Yup, I can identify with #'s 2 and 10! My DD is 15 and let's just say, the brain is not fully cooked yet!!

Good luck with your position. You are wise in how you're approaching things. And just remember, if you can handle being Mom you can handle ANYTHING!

    Best wishes. emoticon
