Birthdays and Binges

Okay.. In my household we celebrate 3 birthdays in the span of 9 days - my hubby and my 2 daughters are born between 5/11 and 5/19. So, of course, we have the obligatory celebrations for each birthday - cake, cupcakes, pizza, etc. Three times - in a little over a week. Then we have the big celebration - food, food and more food - food galore. And then the leftovers...sitting in my fridge calling my name. Last night I was alone after everyone went to bed. I was feeling sad. Next thing I know, I'm eating cake frosting. CAKE FROSTING!! OUT OF THE CAN!!! Hello???!!!!???? I put the spoon down and proceeded to the fridge to throw everything out. I hate that I keep getting in this cycle. Eating healthy and then going off track. I'm sure I gained the 12 lbs I had lost over the last week with all the junk I've been eating. I'm afraid to weigh myself. Back on track this morning but still disgusted with myself.
I'm planning on going on a nice long walk later on this evening. I need to get myself out of this funk....

    NOt-so-good...eating frosting out of the can. AMAZING...recognizing that your were doing it, stopping yourself, and throwing away the rest! It takes a HUGE amount of willpower to stop in the middle of a "jaunt"...KUDOS to you!!

    You have to let it go. I've been there...still am, every time. But we have to forgive ourselves, otherwise we'll never be able to move forward. You can do it!

    Forget about the one incident whats done is done. Enjoy your walk this evening and think about all the positive changes you have made, are you drinking water, eating fruits, exercising etc? When, I have an event to celebrate, I make up something special for me, a nice fruit cup, fresh strawberries etc, you will be suprized, the people eating the cake will be jealous.
