Starting Cycle 3 - 15 lbs. lost in 34 days!

I love, love, love, this plan. I haven't lost that much weight in one month, while feeling completely satisfied in...I don't know when.

Now when I'm in cycle 3, when I can add whole wheat pasta or bread, even a glass of wine. I don't have any desire to. My first day on this cycle, and what I'm having today for dinner is a a grilled turkey sausage (no bun), homemade black bean/corn salsa, salad and a piece of watermelon for dessert. OK so I'm not following the no fruit past 2pm rule, but I didn't always during the first two cycles and I lost 15 lbs.

I read (in Let's Do Lunch), that for any diet plan to work for the rest of your life, you have to be able to do 3 things:
1. Eat until you are full.
2. Eat foods you like-without having to eat foods you don't like.
3. Eat whenever you're hungry.

This plan does all that for me.

And not just for me. My DH and 86 year old mother don't need to lose weight ,but their eating habits have changed also. I don't force them to eat what I am, but they like it. My DH is seeing me make an effort and be successful and he's inspired to make changes also. He quit smoking 4 days ago and he's not as grouchy, miserable as when he tried before. I think it's because he used to feel resentful because I nagged him into trying to break a bad habit, while I did nothing about improving my health. I don't know for sure if that's the reason, but it seems like it's different for him this time. He is even eating healthier. He actually bought 100% whole wheat bread for himself and likes it. He used to only buy what I referred to as "formaldehyde" bread. you know that fluffy white stuff that last forever. He's cut down on his sweets. Now if I could only get him to eat fruits and salads...LOL

The weight loss so far has inspired me to watch my portion control in cycle 3, so I don't lose ground and gain. Hopefully, I'll continue to lose. Either way, I know that I'll continue to feel great!

    Congrats on the weight loss!!
    FYI - Dr.Mike uses the no fruit pass 2pm as a guideline for someone that goes to bed at 10pm. If you're a person that stays up till midnight then you have a couple extra hours to eat your fruit.
    I've been on this lifestyle change since Feb and also love it and the results are amazing!!

    Wow!! Your numbers are amazing!! You inspire me to keep going into Cycle 2 and offer hope for continued weight loss...FANTASTIC!
    As for wine, I had a few glasses of white wine, both Sat. and Sun nite and I still saw a wonderful loss on the scale. Before the parties, I planned to drink the wine, and made a commitment to myself that I wouldn't eat carbs. (I think it is the freedom that people feel when they drink, which opens them up to eating things they shouldn't - that is one of the reasons alcohol is frowned upon in most diets. But, I really wanted to party and not feel like the diet was getting in my way - and it worked!)
    Please keep posting and let us know about Cycle 3. Can't wait to hear all about your next round of successes!!

    WTG! It does feel great! up wine was the part I was most apprehensive about...but I think giving it up is what made a huge difference.....think when I got to cycle 3...I only had 3 glasses. WTG on being a positive influenece on your family too.

    WOW what progress your entire family is making just because of YOU !! can you believe it?

    I gave a copy of the sample 1st staqe today to see if he can follow it in some semblance .... he is not far from eating what it says now ... EXCEPT when he goes to City Bar-B-Que .... that's at least once a week ...

    This plan is healthy eating .... what all of us should do on a daily basis.
