Ahhhhhhhhh! I keep forgetting the scale is not the be-all and end-all of weight loss. Monday 92kgs, Wednesday 95kgs... do I strike an average or what? well I've officially given up on the scale. next week i'm going to do my monthly body water, body fat check and blood tests; here's hoping all comes out well because I'm really, really, really trying.

I used to weigh myself on an almost daily basis and I found it was actually more frustrating than helpful to watch the daily fluctuations. Even though rationally I know it happens seeing the scale go up at all was enough to send me into a downward spiral. So, I have finally forced myself to stop and at least for me it means that I am usually pleasantly surprised when I step on the scale and it doesn't drive me to binging or giving up nearly as much as it used to. This is all new to me, as I've recently started over on Sparkpeople after so months away. So, by no means do I have it all figured out. The important thing is to make today better than yesterday. To make healthier choices, even if it's just one additional thing than we did yesterday. The change will come.

Hi my weight has been fluctuating up and down as well. But today for my one month with sparks people I did my measurements and realized I had lost inches. One inch on my waist, one on my hips, etc so it isn't always weight that will come first. Also, water fluctuations occur and muscle weighs more than the fat we are replacing. So keep on at it don't give up. You can do it.
