Well my attempts at running on Wednesday did not go well at all. I got up early and did about 45 minutes of yoga so that I was well warmed up. At that point I had zero pain and I felt ready to go. But I got about 4 steps into my run and the pain was back. I knew better than to try to keep going. I walked 4 miles with the idea of walking the remaining 3 after work.
But the pain got worse after my shower and ride into work. I obviously need to give myself more time to heal. So I am going to official stop even trying for one week. I tried to get into the doctor so that I can be reassured that my injury is truly just muscle strain, but she is going on vacation next week, is overbooked already for this week. I have an appointment for the 25th. But I'm really hoping that by then, I will be better. She agreed that if I was still in pain by then - it is something worse. We are both hoping I don't need to keep that appointment.
I am very frustrated but it is much better to rest a minor injury for a week or two, than to rehab a major injury for months.
