antique bed - 2nd night

Monday, October 24, 2011

Well - survived our second night! :-) me AND the bed! only 3 nights to go!

Last night's potluck wasn't really a potluck. The family that feed us brought baked potatoes, chili, broccoli, and cheese sauce to top the potato, and salad. They had also bought a cake called a Sock it to me, Cake!

They brought this meal to the church specifically for us to eat immediately before the meeting. The hardest things about this meal for me was this: It wasn't appropriate at that time to only take a half of a potato and the cake. I skipped the chili, and took a limited amount the broccoli and cheese (and sour cream).

The cake was awesome... just took a small piece tho. When my hubby took a piece later, asking me to eat the top part (which had the frosting - caramel and frosting, etc) I said okay - but was honestly full - so I didn't eat it! :-)

I've been in quite a bit of pain this trip - for some reason, the top of my left foot and front of ankle is quite sore, as is my right knee. I got more sleep last night which should begin to help. Probably the problem I have with the pain, is that yesterday in both services, I had to go up stairs to the podium to sing, and one of the churches had steps between the two levels of the church that I had to use several times.

I think I need to actively exercise and begin to build back my strength again. I've been getting more steps in, but not specific exercise.

breakfast - grapes and orange juice

lunch - 1 1/2 grilled cheese sandwiches; chips (15); 2 tbs dip; 4 grapes

snack - peanuts and a few caramel candy corn - ok - there was probably a better snack I could have had

Supper? who knows :-) I'm just thankful that I don't have to cook it. I plan on taking fairly small portions tonight...

Happy Monday, everyone!!!! Thanks for commenting on my blog - I can't get around to everyone this week who have written such encouraging, supporting, and kind remarks!
