Hello all. It's been a very long time....118 days to be exact. I just read the last post I wrote about my goals for Christmas. We are exactly 2 weeks away and I am no closer to reaching any of the goals I had set for myself. I actually took 2 steps backwards. I have done this so many times. I don't know what to do. I don't want surgery.... I want to do this the right way.
I need help. I need motivation. I need support. I need to do this.

    Well I am not sure all that is going on for you but I can say that I really started my journey with just counting calories. It did not matter what I eat as long as I eat in range. I logged logged logged everything I eat. And still do. But as time went on I started eating healthy. Now, I choose good foods for me over bad. Take it slow find things that work for you. I also started walking and now I have moved to Kick Boxing. I read something that really hit home for me years ago. Walk 5 minutes in one direction from your front door and then back. Do that for a week and then add a couple minutes each week to the direction you head. It works!

    You can do this! I know I have been where you are. How many years have I done this to myself, I think?

    A website you might like is called FutureMe.org. It allows you to send emails to yourself, but delivered in the future (you get to pick when). So you could send yourself an email at the beginning of each week, delivered at the end....or once a month....or once a year....whatever length of time. You can get a kick in the pants from yourself whenever you want. I have done this and it has been really cool.

    Hang in there. So many times on this journey it really is forward and backward forward and backward. Eventually you start going more forward than backward. There is a point when things actually start snowballing in a positive direction. It may seem silly but you have to think like the little engine that could..I think I can I think I can. Attitude will push you through in the end.

    If there is anything I can do to help just holler. This journey is so much easier with friends. emoticon emoticon

    Please don't beat yourself up. I think a lot of people set goals and don't always reach them in the time they had planned. Just keep trying, and taking baby steps is the way to go. you can do this!

    Like you, I set all kinds of goals for myself of where I wanted to be at this time of the year. And like you, I am not even close.

    I have realized I have yet to meet one person who's journey has gone exactly like planned. Life has a way of getting complicated and before you know it you've gotten off track.

    I have come to the conclusion that the best thing is to keep getting up each morning and doing the best I can with the time that I have been given.

    Baby steps. That is what I am aiming for and I hope you will too. Resolve to drink you water, add a few extra steps, make healthier food choices or control your portions. Just try not to do everything at once. Build on the small successes that you have.
