And she ran ......

So for the first time in over 2 months, I was able to run. I started the morning out with 45 minutes of gentle yoga. Then I went into the garage to test out some run/walk intervals on the treadmill. I started with a couple of minutes of walking. Then I kicked it up to a speed of 5.0 on the treadmill for 1 minute. Then back to a walk for a minute. After the second running minute, I decided to give myself a little bit more walking in between so I doubled the walk. I could feel that my right hip was weaker than my left. There wasn't pain but it was not 100%. I kept the run portion slow and really paid attention to how my hip felt. I was conscious of my body positioning. I got 1.5 miles in in 21 minutes. I felt like I could have gone longer but I stopped when I hit my goal. A little post work out stretching and I was done. Then a quick shower and into my compression knickers. They have built in pockets for ice packs - which I filled over my hip area for 20 minutes.
So far so good. I'll keep the knickers on until after the first football game of the day.
The big game today is the Eagles / Cowboys game. Can't wait for that. Hope it goes as well as the last match up with the Cowboys this year (sorry to my Texas friends.)
Merry Christmas to All!
