Strictly following my doctors orders - I have been working up to running very very slowly over the last 4 months. I can't believe it has been that long.
This morning I got up and did about 30 minutes of yoga. Then I changed into shorts and t-shirt and went out for a "run." it was not a traditional run by any means - I started out with a quarter mile walk - then jogged a quarter mile and so forth. My goal was to do that for 30 minutes. I didn't worry about pace or calories or distance - expect that I kept the quarter mile on/off very consistently. At the end of 30 minutes, I had gone 2.74 miles. Actually, it was 33 minutes because I did have to get back to my house. I was pleased by the lack of pain in my hip. It felt a little "new to exercise muscle" sore but that I can live with.
After a quick shower, I put on my compression tights and put an ice pack on my hip. I think we are off to run errands for a few hours. i'll leave the compression tights on for that.
I am looking very hopeful toward another stab at it on Monday!!!
