Walking in their shoes...

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

Because of some recent severe weather, there is quite a bit of seasoned wood on the roadsides in my area. My wife, Judith, and I will jog a set distance and then walk home picking up branches along the way. Several years ago we were in Copan, Honduras, and saw couples foraging for firewood in much the same way and were sympathetic towards them. Now as we walk home carrying bundles of branches we feel empowered getting free fuel and possibly performing a community service. I wonder if those people in Copan felt the same way, and I wonder what the people who pass in their cars, think about us.
