A nervous or fearful feeling of uncertain agitation...

Tuesday, February 07, 2012

That's trepidation.

My wife Judith's favorite exercise is walking. She has long legs and a short torso, so she has a pretty good stride compared to me with my short legs and long torso. Before I got rid of my excess, she would have to beg me to walk with her and most of the time it did her no good. Now we walk two to five miles together most days and I have to trot to keep up with her.

But the shoe is going to be on the other, foot so to speak. She is scheduled to have a big toe joint implant on her right foot on Valentine's day. I am supposed to encourage her to start walking again as soon as possible after the surgery. I hope "as soon as possible" is defined a bit more concretely before the operation. Both of us are a little nervous about the whole thing.

This picture was borrowed from OrthoInfo, where we researched Judith's condition.

It;s been well and truly documented that prayer and good wishes help with healing and recovery. Your wife with sail through the surgery. Absolutely.

I am sending best wishes for your wife's speedy recovery. I have arthritis in my feet and I have to say that when I started wearing DANSKO shoes my feet improved so much. Dansko is known for its clogs but now they make some tennis shoes.... you might want to look into it.... it sure helped me.
