Sweat the Small Stuff

Don't sweat the small stuff - and it's all small stuff. I'm sure that you have all heard that saying. It's one of my favorite sayings when it's applied to attitude and negativity. Attitude is incredibly important and when you get yourself all worked up about little problems and minor annoyances, you lose focus, get irritable, and don't have enough energy to manage the really important things.
However, when you are changing your lifestyle to lose weight and gain health, sweating is really important. Sweating to your dvd's, sweating on the daily walk, sweating when you are doing cardio, or dancing, or hooping, or biking. Sweating the small stuff becomes important.
I know that sounds contradictory but think about it.
Drinking a little extra water a day: small stuff.
After breakfast, drinking only water: small stuff
Adding 10 minutes of activity: small stuff
Measuring your food: small stuff
Deciding not to eat that candy bar: small stuff
Limiting yourself to one treat a week: small stuff
Tracking your food: small stuff
Using a smaller plate at dinner: small stuff
Serve your food on a plate instead of putting bowls on the table for self serve: small stuff
Drinking regular coffee instead of that latte: small stuff
Eat breakfast every day: small stuff
Avoid "white" foods: small stuff
Eating at home more: small stuff
Eating slowly, chewing lots: small stuff
Setting weekly goals: small stuff
Using herbs and spices instead of butter: small stuff
Eat fruit instead of drinking juice: small stuff
Parking farther away when shopping: small stuff
Using stairs instead of elevators: small stuff
Meeting friends for fun instead of food: small stuff
Take a walk before dinner: small stuff
Watch one hour less TV a day: small stuff
Order wine by the drink, not the bottle: small stuff
Order dressing on the side: small stuff
Always shop using a list: small stuff
You have plenty of other small things that you can add to the list, don't you? So, make your list or print out mine and add to it.
Next, start sweating this small stuff. These are thee little things that can make a huge difference in your weight loss program.
When it comes to small emotional things, don't sweat the small stuff. Don't worry, be happy. But when it comes to small stuff...like this small stuff, I have to tell you:
