Happy Thanksgiving to all of you here at SP! If you're not American and celebrating tomorrow, take a moment anyway and give thanks with us and maybe have a slice of pie in our honor. :) For all of the wonderful folks who created this site and keep it running, and keep it free, I am grateful. And I am thankful for the many wonderful friends I've "met" here during the past 2 years. Without all of you, I'd probably still be that 230 lb woman who had little chance of ever being anything less than obese.
My husband and I are going to be having turkey and all the trimmings at Cracker Barrel rather than cooking it ourselves. I'm getting lazy in my old age, lol, and this way we don't have a ton of tempting leftovers to deal with for a week. What are your plans for the day?
1 Chronicles 29:11-13
"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name." (KJV)
In these times when it seems like we are doing our best as a country to remove God from all we do, I love this quote by George Washington. What a reminder of where we came from and who we owe it all to...
"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor."
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs,
Karen
