Rewards Update

So far I have completed both Step 1 and Step 2 of my exercise plan. I suffered an oops week (that I made up for) and a sick week (when I still managed 4 days of exercise), but overall I did pretty well, I think. I'm still chugging along and that's what matters, right? So here I am at the end of my first week of Step 3 but this first week was something of an experiment. I was not sure that I could get in those 45 minutes and so I tried upping the intensity of the 30 minutes instead. I'm satisfied with the results from that so I'm going to make this compromise for the future: I will try to do 45 minutes of moderate cardio, but if I know I'm running tight on time, I will instead do 30 minutes of really intense cardio. I will do that 3 times a week. I will stick to the planned 2 days of strength training per week as well. BTW- I will consider a full day of back-breaking yard work (clearing thigh-high weeds from our slopes with rakes, a machete & a weed-eater) to count as one of my strength training days, but only once per week. :)

As for rewards: I have completed 9 weeks of goals. So far I have earned two 2 hour bath & reading time sessions, 3 new books, 1 pedicure, & Zumba Core for the Wii. If I complete this week's goals I'll earn "13 day time hours alone to sew!" Which means I can finally tackle one of those projects that's been sitting in my sewing cubbies for ages and check it off my to-do list! Then if I complete two more weeks of goals I'll have earned a 60 minute massage! Oh could I use that! :)

Speaking of rewards, though. Guess what? Tonight I informed hubby that "I just checked and I've earned my Zumba for the Wii." As I spoke, I held my laptop in my hand with Zumba Core in my Amazon Cart, just waiting for one more click to confirm purchase. Hubby said, "Good, do you want to go get it from my car?" I said, "What?" He said, "Target had it on clearance so I went ahead and bought it. It's in the car." I thought, "Oh no, there are three of them. We never talked about which one I wanted. what if he bought the wrong one?" I asked, "The original Zumba for the Wii?" He said, "No the Core one." Okay now I was excited. "Zumba Core? You bought Zumba Core?!" He grins and nods, "Yeah." Of course I kissed him then. My hubby is so awesome! :D
