Father's Day-with pics

Monday, June 17, 2013

Father's Day... I'm thankful for my dad who left a legacy - teaching us, his four children, our need for a Savior from our sin, and teaching by example his obedience to God's call to missions. He has been in his heavenly home for 24 years this month.

This is my family picture from . . . a long time ago! lol I'm the youngest of the family in the back row. :)

I'm also so grateful for my dear husband who has been an awesome dad to our children and grandpa to our grandchildren!

Christmas 2012-back row: our daughter Ashley (25) holding baby Benjamin; our daughter-in-law Mary, our son, Joe (almost 29), and our other two grandchildren (then 5 and 4 yrs).

My hubby in "Grandpa position!"

Yesterday, we had a funeral at the church, my hubby officiated and I played piano... We also helped serve and clean up the luncheon. My hubby was sweet to tell me to sit often! Still working on the swollen leg...
Baby Benjamin came last night instead of this afternoon - so life is interesting again... he came to us very angry (for a 16 mo old!) - forced a bath and off to bed, and he awakened so much happier.

emoticon Church this a.m. with baby - always an adventure! We're a very small church fellowship, and baby is the only baby/toddler there. We're thankful for Miss Lori for caring for him when he's at church with us - as Ernie's up front leading songs and preaching, and I'm at the piano and teaching the kids if we have any.

emoticon We had lunch in town at one of my hubby's favorite pizza places with our son, daughter, and baby - it's very rare to have just our original 4 members of our family together (not counting baby!). Then, hubby and I went to a movie, then picked up baby and came home.

emoticon Tomorrow, Lord willing, I'll have some trigger point injections in my shoulder and neck muscles, followed by blood tests (one is fasting @ 2:15pm!), and then my first mammogram.

Overview -
- emoticon didn't track today or yesterday - but today wasn't too bad... pretty sure I was completely under the calorie limit, but probably not too great fruits and veggies!
- emoticon more steps both yesterday and today - not sure how many
- emoticon water... emoticon not so good! I promise to better tomorrow, Janet! lol

I'm not giving up! tomorrow is a fresh new start!
Have a great week my friends!

I love small church fellowships. They're more intimate, you can know more people - and BE known, so you can't escape accountability! emoticon Most of the churches I visit on missions are this kind.
